Why Choose Us?
I have been an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor since 2014, teaching in the Princeton/McKinney area.
I offer classes for
- Beginner pistol (over 2000 students)
- License to Carry (over 3600 students)
- Active Shooter Training (schools and churches)
and private instruction, as requested, for
- Beginner pistol
- Intermediate pistol
- Defensive Shooting
- Shotgun
- Children's Safety Training
I am insured by Lockton Insurance, and certified by both the NRA and DPS. I provide services
for law enforcement, providing specialized training and qualifications for
Federal Officers and retired police. I set a high standard, and bring civilian
students up to a higher level than they expected. I am certified by DPS to teach the
School Safety Certification course, and have trained armed teachers in several
Texas school districts, including Palmer ISD and Melissa ISD.
I maintain a private outdoor range South of Princeton, with a large pond and some cows.
My students find this a very tranquil setting, and it allows us to shoot while moving,
and learning new skills. We have to be outside the city limits for this level of
training, but everyone agrees that it is a great location.
What They Say
If I could give a 10-Star review, I would! The LTC Shooting Proficiency session with Sandy
was a great experience! He provides excellent instruction that will last a lifetime and has
improved my level of confidence and safety with a firearm.
Brad G., McKinney
I cannot recommend Sandy enough! He was such a great instructor. I went in terrified but
left feeling confident. He is incredibly knowledgeable, very methodical and thorough in his
gun education and safety.

I've had 3 sessions with Sandy - a "Learn to Shoot" pistols session, a private instruction
session, and the License to Carry proficiency test session. When I was first researching online
for a firearms instructor, I chose to go with McKinney Firearms Training for these 3 main reasons:
1) It's a beautiful outdoor range, and is much better compared to traditional indoor range.
2) It's a small locally owned business.
3) Sandy has decades of firearms experience, and has trained thousands of students.
His experience in firearms instruction really shows. Sandy is a great instructor and makes
classes both entertaining and extremely informative.
